New York City Council is strong supporter of heat pumps and fossil-free heating. Also, city will soon max out gas capacity. The days of polluting fuels in NYC are limited. #BeneficialElectrification

Heat pumps are unsuitable for replacing heavy fuel oil boilers.

We don't have "heavy fuel oil" in New York City. I worked hard, with others, to ban it years ago. In any case, heat pumps are a fine replacement for oil heat. Oil heat replacement is most of the geothermal heat pump business today. Gas comes next.
