This is another sweet spot for rooftop solar. All my appliances are now electric (efficient heatpumps for water/HVAC) and I have added solar to cover all of that electricity load, along with the electricity for an electric car. So expecting to send very little money to PG&E.https://twitter.com/KyleMueller2/status/1051431493845901313 …

Boom. The electricity market has a natural limiter: what you can install PV for. Kinda tough to make your own gas or oil. Oil's already coming up, think gas will stay at 40 year lows?

1. Electric rates are going up. And are likely to continue to do so. Even more so *if* you believe natural gas prices are to rise. 2. Someone has to pay for grid costs. Not everyone can net meter to zero and expect to maintain a healthy system.

Can you split that further? Are generation costs likely to go up with renewables getting cheaper? Agreed the grid will need some love, so transmission and distribution are likely to increase. Agree/disagree?

Geothermal Heat pumps lower grid's summer peak demand and increase grid utilization during off peak. The result is lower T&D delivery charges. So, GHP lowers rates. Stop gas expansion now!
