just for some context ... at the most recent fair board meeting where the fair board approved the contracts with Bristol, they said they don't expect the renovations to be done and ready for racing most likely until the 2026 season.

The Nashville Metro Council still needs to have three readings of the bill for the Fairgrounds contracts to be approved. No dates yet set for when those will be.

Bristol will only need simple majority of votes from Nashville Metro Council to get Fairgrounds Speedway contracts approved, according to law signed by Tennessee governor today. There was question on whether it would be considered new development that required two-thirds approval

I'm pretty optimistic for this weekend at Kansas. The forecasts I've seen have shown if it does rain (and it appears more likely closer to evening if it does), it wouldn't be a several-hour thing.

It would make sense to be the same manufacturer in Cup and truck for affiliated organizations. But with all truck teams running an Ilmor engine, there isn't as much correlation. Main thing would be simulator time/access as well as info from other truck teams of manufacturer.

TBD on what GMS Racing does in trucks as far as manufacturer. Maury Gallagher said they just got Cup deal done with Toyota and Legacy and GMS are two separate companies so TBD on what to do in trucks.

Only track activity today at Kansas is a five-hour practice/test session for ARCA teams. Their main non-Daytona test session of the year. Truck teams come in late afternoon and do tech. Cup teams arrive Saturday with tech in late morning/afternoon.

I guess I bring a lot of stuff to the track — computer bag; backpack with radios, cords, meds, microphones, etc.; extra set of clothes and suit jacket — b/c three of the last four weeks as I have left hotel for track, I have been asked by hotel workers if I was checking out lol.
