one of the reasons i don't use twitter to explicitly say things like trans rights, gay rights, believe women, etc is bcus on a moral level, having those beliefs seem so obvious & bcus they're so obvious, it feels like people will think i'm saying those things just to seem 1/7
like a good person. especially factoring in my past & me always trying to be mr. funny, it's felt like me trying to promote those things would been seen as more of a moral clout chase or something, rather than standing by values i actually believe in. that being said, i don't 2/7
enjoy being seen as problematic, and it definitely feels pretty fkn bad to have someone like ryobeat talk about how shitty of a person i am with his 60 viewers on twitch, & additionally be seen as a "good" person for it. building up to the actual point though, after 3/7
observing all the instances on twitter in the past couple weeks of cases of fucked up shit happening, it's been made abundantly clear why promotion/advocating for the safety of women, lgbtq folk, and now i guess children, in the smash community is actually vital 4/7
i don't want to contribute to the problem and if i can contribute to the solution via rt'ing important things to spread awareness, then that's what i'll do that being said, some people have hectic personal lives & don't feel they have the energy to let this 5/7
overwhelming negative day to day news add on to the pressures they already deal with offline, which is the largest reason why i'm pretty inactive on this platform. again, i'm not inactive bcus idc, but more for my own mental health. 6/7

"believe women" I'm not obligated to believe someone just because they are of a certain gender.
The idea is not to believe them simply because of their gender, it's to recognize and correct your tendency to not believe someone because of their gender. You're not making gender a factor, you're trying to remove it as one.
Big ups on this thread man, especially since pre-summit I was iffy on you. The problem is that they seem obvious. But look around daily. This shits happening. And it takes these waves and clear stances to make changes and let people know they're wrong. No shame in speaking up
