I did not know where the term 'grandfather you' (as in keeping your current plan) came from. Now I know, you should as well. We are using now the term 'legacy' instead (legacy you in). Once you know, be better.

Most programming languages use English keywords, which gives English speakers an unfair advantage in learning them -- but it doesn't have to be that way. Some of the strongest responses I've ever gotten to an article, both positive and negative.

    More 🐍 fun with unicode identifiers. Can you guess what happens for each of these? (lambda ℤ: 0)(1) (lambda ℤ: 0)(ℤ=1) (lambda ℤ: 0)(Z=1) (lambda ℤ: 0)(**{'Z': 1}) (lambda ℤ: 0)(**{'ℤ': 1})

Here's the corrected version of my first Python/Django video tutorial on password validation! 📹🔒 It covers how to enable validation, customise settings, write your own validators, and integrating password validation in your own views or APIs:

Not my usual weird syntax/Unicode python stuff, but this did trip me up today: from functools import partial fn = lambda x: x res = partial(fn, x=1)(x=2) print(res) Can you guess the output/error?

I've decided to try making Python and Django video tutorials! 📹✨ First one coming out soon, about Django's password validation (which I wrote, so I know it quite well). What subjects would you like to see? (that I might know)

Browsing Trac's source code and documentation always feels so outdated to me. I wonder if some people feel the same way about Django, or how long it will take for it to become outdated too.

Another day, another confusing usage of unicode in Python. Can you figure out what's happening? i= 0 iᚐ= 1 print(i)

Yesterday's tweet went well, so let's have some more Python fun. How confident are you with your unicode math(s) skills? Can you predict the result of the following: int('-𝟙𝟚𝟛') + int(' 123')

Sadly the stdlib "support" is not fully there but you can still get into some shenanigans: from datetime import datetime print(datetime.strptime('໒໐໑໙-11-2໕', '%Y-%m-%d'))
