Bought a RAM upgrade for a desktop PC today. Seems RAM is now 3500 times cheaper than the last time I did that (1995). Can't imagine any other industry with that kind of progress. Moore's law in action I guess.

it's more of an anecdote: RAM that is just a few cycles away is about 64KB today... and so it was in the 1980s as well

kinda odd that modern consoles use 3GB for the operating system when my computer uses 32mb for the operating system... whats eating all those precious resources?

I read somewhere that devs only found out about 8GB of ram (or 5gb technically) at the reveal, thats unacceptable sony and microsoft are too secretive with there hardware, tell devs the specs so they can make games for the target or else you get stuff like AC unity and watchdogs
