It is monsoon season: induced climate change may be a factor, but a more direct reason for scenes like this is massive deforestation. The land is supposed to be covered in trees: lose them, floods ensue. Cutting trees also immediately releases greenhouse gases.
"climate change may be a factor". By increasing temperature by 1 degree the air can carry 7% more moisture. That's not an insignificant amount of extra rain.
I know it's a radical idea, but: They probably should think about moving.
