These people act like their dropping off something for a friend and then wonder why they sent making tips. Like it's still a customer service job and should be treated as such
Pizza delivery drivers are employees and as such are guaranteed minimum wage, while doordash/Postmates/etc are contractors who earn a nominal fee per delivery. If customer service is important you're better off ordering directly from a restaurant rather than an app
But they don't work for a pizza place. They don't have formal employment. They gave a garbage *gig* with DoorDash. Contract workers owe you nothing.
The companies pay for the ticket or take out of the employee’s check.
Unfortunately working for a pizza place and working for DoorDash, JustEat, Deliveroo and Uber Eats are a different story. We’re paid per order whereas working for a pizza place, you’ll probably get paid hourly like normal jobs. Time is money in the self employed world.
You never worked in delivery if your mindset is "actually the driver should risk enormously expensive tickets for $10 deliveries all the time"
This is a crippling indictment of pizza place employment
