    On the other hand, if DSV especially provides an means of achieving an transaction that would otherwise require a different method that happens to be patented, the patent holder would have a strong incentive to oppose it.

    This is what happens when somebody completely loses the plot. A bunch of people in BCH apparently allowed themselves to get caught up in trivial bikeshedding drama. Their drama has escalated until they start arguing it's ok to steal money that was spent in ways they don't like.

    Because the funds are associated with opcodes that are part of an attack on BCH. If you want to implement changes you need miner support or a new ticker. ABC could have waited to build that support. Now they can drop their shit or get the fuck off the whitepaper's blockchain.
