Y'all don't even be reading terms and agreements for your cellphone plans or iOS updates so please pipe down with the shade. The problem isn't the artists, it's the label execs that are actively trying to hold them and their art hostage.

I want to reiterate that the framing of this convo has to shift. It's not "how could these artists be stupid!" it should be "how do we dismantle and reconstruct the recording industry complex in a way that creates a transparent distribution of art and promotes artist ownership"

and last thing... just like the Taylor/Scooter/Big Machine situation, it's easy to make this about solely about Kanye... but this is much bigger than one person's contract so let's keep that in mind
