This is a regional based sample... try Chinese students in universities in CA and the results will be different.

Will it, though? At my alma mater, Chinese students largely kept to themselves too. Not one American friend seems unlikely, but the problem remains the same.

I wouldn’t call it a “problem”. Most Asian Americans/Canadians live in their own circles and face the same “problems” of fitting in with the white kids and mainstream culture. Let’s just be honest.

“Let’s just be honest.” Let’s ask the AAPIs in non-predominantly “Asian” neighborhoods, especially in Texas and California. We played water polo, baseball and football. We excelled in literature, not STEM. Our best friends in the world are white.
