Disappointed that @hknightsf chose not to include facts disproving her desired narrative about our work. So much misleading info in this piece it’s impossible to respond in 280 characters.https://www.sfchronicle.com/bayarea/heatherknight/article/Is-public-safety-a-priority-for-DA-Chesa-Boudin-15654795.php …

Supporting victims & survivors is a priority for my office--exactly why we sent a survey for their feedback. Strange to be criticized for asking victims for feedback. Somehow
@hknightsf took an effort by our office to listen to survivors as proof that we don’t.10 replies 8 retweets 70 likesShow this thread -
There were 54 questions in the survey—she disliked one. There were two survivors quoted in her article. I personally met with both of them and personally examined the evidence in each of their cases. Mind you my office has around 5,000 open cases at any given time.

The police and the prior administration all believed neither of these cases could be filed. I looked anyway. I met with them anyway. When we couldn't file a case, I invited both of these two survivors to join community advisory boards. One accepted.

To show you just how inaccurate this story is, here's an unedited email I sent to a survivor quoted in this story in June (one of several I sent her). We shared the email with
@hknightsf but she failed to mention it in her piece. Compassion wasn’t the story she wanted to tell.pic.twitter.com/bhXleidhzC

Replying to @chesaboudin @hknightsf
Isn’t there some sort of victim-DA attorney client relationship ethical violation going on here? This is unbelievable

DA’s don’t represent victims, they represent “the people”.

2 seconds of googling. Surely the DA’s himself should be held to a at least the same standard as victim advocate https://cacnc.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/NACPCodeOfEthics.pdf …

Dude, the victim is not the DA’s client. Maybe you need to spend more time than two seconds Googling. This isn’t some big secret.
