In my ideal Spyro 4 I'd have Cynder come back as a chaotic neutral shounen rival archetype like Shadow the Hedgehog but in a better mood, who steals gems and sets up ridiculous challenges for Spyro just because it might be funny

Personally I'm just not a fan of "good guy" Cynder reimaginings that are little more than Spyro reskins, I think it'd be a lot more fun if she was a soft-antagonist/morally grey character.

This idea is actually fantastic and actually cool! Cynder as a crazy rival that puts Spyro on challenges for mere fun, and is like neutral with no real divergence on her actions.
While I like her as a good character, this one is a great alternative. 🖤

Or what if say Spyro 4 has collectibles like orbs again. She can be in the levels like "these guys had me do their chores for this thing and I know you need it. If you want it so bad I have a challenge for you!" Taking that role from hunter who it didn't fit with in Spyro 2

I really like the idea that she could've been going through the same types of challenges Spyro does and it's just that Cynder got there first.

That sounds awesome! I think it would be a great new take on Cynder for the classic continuity, and this design is really nice, too!
