I bought the Startech USB3HDCAP. So far it has been compatible with anything OSSC I throw at it. If this setup proves solid and compatible enough, i may just sell my Framemeister and Elgato HD60.
yeah I am currently using the OG Elgato, which is a decent card but I am due for an upgrade. The Startech though is using a similar board to what Micomsoft uses for their own capture card: The X-Capture-1 (and the desktop variant). I heard it's decent.
So far it's been pretty good. Some things to consider with the Startech and Micomsoft card, though, is that they don't have any hardware encoders themselves, so your PC needs some decent grunt to record with losing frames.
I obviously meant WITHOUT losing frames. Due to this I'm also not sure how reliable these cards are for streaming, but local recording is the largest priority for me, anyway.
