The main reason why I never played the original is because the control scheme is a nightmare on the 3DS. A Switch port can solve it, and I will finally understand why people are so adamantly in love with this game.

I highly doubt it'd happen unfortunately, since Sakurai was ADAMANT about the control scheme being the way it was. He wouldn't even allow the game to support the 3rd party c-stick that was out at the time. He's like Miyamoto in that sense. Form over function.
