As an actor or creative person in general, moving to LA [or Dallas] is a major decision, both personally and financially. It is not something that should be done without careful planning & preparation.

I see a lot of people feeling pressured to move because they see a lot of their friends or peers succeeding and they don’t want to be left behind, or they think that if they don’t have a career by a certain arbitrary age, it’s “too late”.

#VoiceActing is more competitive now than ever which is why it’s so important to be sure you are ready before taking such a financial risk. And especially if you don’t already live in the US, things get far more expensive and complicated.1 antwoord 8 retweets 185 vind-ik-leuksDeze collectie tonen -
Before you plan a move, ask yourself these questions: 1. Do I have sufficient savings to start out with? 2. Do I have a plan to make stable income once I move? (It can take years to be able to act full-time so plan a day job!)

I would love to see a thread of the jobs we all worked BEFORE we were able to start making VO our full-time focus (if we even have since then). I was a graveyard shift call center dispatch and a QA tester before I even THOUGHT about trying to make VO a daily routine.

If anything I know you had to move from one state to another in order to start your journey and that alone is a huge step that many can do, and I think that's very admirable.
