I can't beat him in any track period. I'm just not good at drifting and online videos don't showcase exactly what I'm doing wrong.

I've never been super great at explaining the mechanic, but it does take some time to fully grasp, and once you get it down, it'll become as regular as clockwork.

In nitro fueled they've added in a thing where the tires with glow too, so when they glow the brightest hit the other button. Timing is the same for every character so once you've got it you'll be able to time it without looking

Also timing that third drift boost to happen at the same time as hitting a boost pad, and basically keep drift boosting to an almost unnecessary amount is always good. There's this hidden system in place where boosts are stackable in certain situations so just keep boosting!
