Smash is practically built for sharing videos on social media. It even has a video editor. But you can't. Got people recording their replays with their phone like it's 2008 over here.

i still do that for older consoles
which is fine, though now you can still find capture cards that handle Composite well. I highly recommend the old school Elgato HD if you can track down.

Why would you pay for an HD capture card for a SNES or PS1 game? Is the 60 fps on YouTube going to be worth that much money?

Because it's better to get that than the cheap 30$ cards that have mediocre framerate, awful color accuracy, and hideous audio-video lag. Plus that device can only do 720p at 60fps. This is not about youtube money, some people want to capture things to express themselves.
