    "the basics" that people keep talking a bout. and tay is right. a good sysadmin or a good network engineer can make life miserable for attackers, LONG before the blueteam ever gets involved.

    The ability to do this kind of hardening is entirely dependent on you having a full understanding of your support and admin teams’ processes. A lot of Security is good administration and Operations knowledge.

    Surely someone on the west coast has a job for this guy, right? He is willing to relocate someone give this guy an interview!

    Even though I didn't manage to line up any interviews, I've had a great time in California. Today I'm going to go to caljobs to take a typing test. When I was 18 they certified me at 90 wpm. Hopefully with something that high I can find temp work until I find an infosec job.

    Talked to around 35 vendors at , only -two- of them supported MFA on their admin interfaces. If your security product (that usually needs elevated creds/placement) doesn’t support a way to secure itself above “have good admin passwords” I doubt it can do what it says.
