I can't believe we're actually discussing whether people are entitled to getting laid. The answer is no. The question is ridiculous.

Am I concerned that some people have less sex than other people? Do I think it's a social injustice? No. How the hell is that even being entertained.

Maybe a distinction without a difference, but I think the misogyny is a symptom of profound feelings of isolation and rejection. It's psychologically easier to project those feelings onto women - which they think will cure those feelings - than take steps to address themselves.
-
I think misogyny causes a great part of their isolation, although it might exacerbate it as well. I supposed it's a chicken-or-egg problem. Plenty of lonely people aren't misogynistic. Either way, their misogyny is entirely their choice and therefore their responsibility.
-
Agree it's their responsibility entirely. The misogyny is a function of whether one is more inclined to project the negative feelings inward or outward, I suppose. Much like everything else, a little introspection and empathy would go a long way, but, yeah.

Is "incel" the new term being used by many in situations when "loser" could be used just as accurately?

Bingo

The fact that some incels consider themselves libertarian and then push for the state to approve/disapprove who we are allowed to form adult sexual relationships with boggles my mind.
-
The term has become so bastardized in America. maga people twist it to suit whatever suits them. Noam articulates it better than i could ever hope to do: https://youtu.be/yxbeyn2xMQE In short, these people don't know what libertarianism is.

I’m afraid I’m more confused now than before I googled “incel problem”. Thanks. I think.

It’s just another (terrible) shade of narcissism. The interweb has supercharged the populist appeal to externalize your personal failure.

Yeah, it's not about sex in itself. It's about insecure men -- many of whom, to be fair, were bullied at a young age -- who lack introspection and see women in an age of empowerment as the source of their problems. Their solution to rejection is not to look within, but to blame.

I had to look up "incel" in the urban dictionary.

Some men not only want sexual intercourse with a female whenever they want it. They want to be adored and admired all the time. It stems from loneliness and insecurity. They want a mommy they can f*ck. Unconditional love, clean laundry, meals cooked and sex.

Maybe women don’t want to have sex with them is because the are assholes?

So, let's say that there is a gov't funded team of sex workers that do this. Does that help make insecure shut-in folks less insecure and more understanding of others? No! So what exactly is the "problem" we are solving here?
