What’s the clearest sign that people hate using data tables? Whenever we provide a table we MUST also include an export option which allows the user to take their data and bring it into Excel. “Enough with the Data Tables”

Hey friends! I’m doing some informal research to satisfy my curiosity. Would you mind sharing: 1) what your title is 2) approx. what % of your time is spent doing visual design, i.e. creating designs in a program like Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, etc. Thank you & please RT!

1/ Such good advice over at about publicly critiquing others' work (Thanks & for hosting!) As someone *trying* to be more thoughtful & responsible with public callout, I found the suggestions below incredibly helpful. A thread: Should you critique?

OKAY. The Princess Bride. Super well known and beloved film, and I have absolutely no idea what it's about. Now I did initially think it was the one (also not seen) where the lady comes down on a meteor or something but apparently not so, and I think I also got it- 1/

Glad that is calling this out. Will add that by making stuff you also create more possibilities that need to be accounted for.

Nothing like a 630a trip to the emergency room to get the day started off wrong. Got a few stitches in my hand and I guess I have to be left-handed for a few days.

Hot sports take: We as a nation are awful at branding new sports teams. The last 30+ years have led to mediocre, bland ideas. Teams should enter with a location name and colors and that's it. Let the team earn/develop an identity over time and then brand it.

Okay, here’s a good one: I find that lots of stuff I do day-to-day goes back to 1930s human factors. Design is not “new” or “young.” If we keep having this excuse we’re not going to get anywhere.
