Walked up on three undercover taking down two women for apparent fare evasion at boro hall in BK this morning. How is this okay?
Conversation
I got stopped once for fare evasion. I argued with the cops for a good 15 minutes about how it's not my fault if the machine doesn't open when I swipe, then got a verbal warning and went on my way. I wonder what's different between me and these two women?

This happened to me at 6:00 this morning. The damned machine read my swipe but the f'in turnstyle didn't budge.

NOT close to okay. Cruel, mean policy-backed by #deBlasio-to arrest poor NYers for farebeat. Get cops outta subways, provide free fares for poor ppl. Will lead to kinder, fairer city & save money to boot.

Disgraceful.
Meanwhile cops look the other way with placard corruption and it's illegal and *stolen* parking worth more than a subway fare.
How do you justify this @NYPDONeill?

👏 on filming!
Here are handy screenshots.
If you 👀 them at Borough Hall or Jay Street or Hoyt Street stations, offer to #SwipeItForward. Crazy that disguised cops are used to arrest ppl for not having $2.75. These arrests likely cost the City more than $1,500 each.

How much does placard abuse cost? More than $2.75, it would seem.

In what world are two poor people who can't afford fare a threat to public safety on the subways? (BTW these arrests will cost you us thousands of dollars that could be used to actually make the city safer.
