Me, after today's exposure therapy (which is not as illegal as it sounds):

I've always hated the "kissy kissy" greeting. I wanted to seem "normal," though. It's a small thing, but it feels good to know this is now negotiable. Give me ALL the free hugs Husby (or your kid) might not want. Hurray for hashtag no more mwah mwah! 💜 /end

Especially – actually – for kids. The "now you must hug uncle Joe McCreeps" takes away the child's bodily autonomy. I'm the sort of #ActuallyAutistic person who *loves* hugs. Many hate hugs, though, yet are forced into them. Which is why I always say "safe hugs if wanted." /2

Friends came by today. Gay men in Amsterdam (don't know about everywhere else) used to do a "mwah mwah" kiss on the lips which I'd always hated. Today, in 2022, my friends and I hugged. Husby didn't/doesn't want to hug anyone who isn't me. I'd really like to #normalise that. /1
