Fun fact: That job screening company that scans Twitter accounts for bad words has developers that commit plaintext passwords on GitHub. ... Maybe they're scanning the wrong website.

Last Sunday we activated DL0ESA club station from ESA’s ESOC in Darmstadt via QO100. Worked 99 stations from Brazil to China and from Iceland to South Africa. Portable from the parking lot.

Yes, what Nick said. it's one of the few very few bright spots of the F-35 saga. I make a similar point here (the Chinese were already in our networks (university, DoD) 20+ y ago when I was a student)

For non-scientists, if you see something posted from a site called BioRxiv, have some skepticism. It could be a fantastic paper! (I've used it!)--but. The site is for preprints, which means they haven't undergone peer review yet. /1

Bribed 7 yo with Skittles to read a new essay out loud, so I could see which sentences a reader might trip over. It would have been worth doing just for how funny it was. I never realized quite how much my essays sound like me.

As a consultant, I'm seeing an epidemic: Companies are wasting millions by giving developers slow laptops. Today I said "npm install x". My laptop: 10 seconds. 😀 Their laptop: 3+ minutes. 🤯🤦‍♂️ Why? Weak processors, little RAM, platter drives, and slow security scanners.

Heading to RSA/BSidesSF? I have free passes to FuzzCon where I’ll be keynoting. It’s my first time being around for RSA, let’s hang out, are there activities I should I be sure to to do?
