This is a difficult time of year for many, particularly those who are grieving. In my experience, apart from time the most effective balm for grief is gratitude, wherever you can find it. All this to say: I'm grateful. 5/5

I've known my sister-in-law since we were fourteen, & I honestly can't think of a single moment when she was unkind or thoughtless. She's just a beacon of warmth, one of my favorite people on the planet. Also? We got each other the exact same candle for Christmas. (BBW Winter)4/

3) My brother & sister-in-law have been together since they were teenagers (~34 years) & their marriage is an absolute miracle. They treat each other with unwavering consideration, respect, & obvious adoration & have raised three remarkable girls who embody the best of them. 3/

Amidst the cultural backdrop of #MeToo and artists who are shockingly -- appallingly -- peddling racism, anti-Semitism, transphobia, it's a privilege to be able to say that my childhood heroes have lived up to the pedestal and then some. They have always pushed for progress.

Just elated for the band I've loved for almost 40 (!) years and this long overdue recognition. I'm also grateful that they have consistently proven themselves to be such decent human beings.

I just saw an ad that said, "We knew it was the original sin that caused the liberals' spending spree." That's an actual quote. And I'm just -- wait, what?
