"It should be easy" but now it won't be? Not following the logic @TeamYouTube.
So now I'm no longer eligible for verification and will lose that status next month. Even though, y'know, LGR has 1.2 million subs, 8 million monthly viewers, and plenty of coverage in the media. K.https://twitter.com/TeamYouTube/status/1174735005215420416 …

Sure seems like LGR meets the requirements, but then I get this email. Will absolutely be submitting a dispute.pic.twitter.com/lCMwZMZ57m

I can't imagine how this makes anything better for anyone. The biggest channels don't require this kind of thing. What it DOES do is screw with "normal" channels like mine that have actually had frequent problems with scam accounts impersonating LGR and spamming in the comments.

YouTube says they don't want to imply that they "endorse" verified channels, yet that's exactly what this move accomplishes. If only select celebrities, talk show hosts, publishers, YouTubers, and signed musicians are verified, that looks like a greater endorsement than before.

Also, I find it highly amusing that YouTube themselves *just* offered to sign me onto a highly lucrative advertising deal very recently, apparently as one of a select few channels. I declined due to the advertiser's business practices conflicting with my views. Now this? Heh.
