Today's adventure was building a USB based RPC system for my microcontroller, and tunneling @rustlang embedded-hal calls, so I can run a bare-metal driver on my PC, but all the I2C comms happen in and out of the uC.
You can do the same with an FT232H I found.

Sure! It's up here: https://github.com/jamesmunns/OtterPill-rs/tree/pretty-hal-machine … vintage/src/{i2c_rpc.rs, usb} are the microcontroller side, serde+postcard+cobs for message parsing, e-h traits for actions. vintage-cli/src/main.rs impls the e-h traits, and uses them with the no-std driver. calls go to/from usb
