Yo @linuxfoundation, since this is a survey focusing on Open Source you may want to include "Developer Relations" in your survey next year.
I think you may be surprised by how many respondents fit into that bucket

noted, we will take care of it
Also, sales and marketing aren’t one in the same - esp in open source. Just my two cents.
very true - this list seemed generous in some ways, but arbitrary in others - e.g. “Developer” and “Engineer” appear as separate items - I presumed so that the chooser didn’t need to split hairs - vs apparently “Scientist/Researcher” which are indistinguishable (?)
why not just make a generous (long) list & use “check all that apply”? this also has the nice advantage of showing the sheer breadth of valuable open source work + experience plus encourages “you can do all! the! things!” thoughts not just be stuck in a niche or single category
Definitely agree. If "Developer Relations" was an option and this was multiple choice, I would have selected Developer Relations, Developer, and Marketing. Maybe even sales with some deliberation on if BizDev was a function of sales
Could easily follow up with a single-choice question along the lines of "Which field do you *most* identify with?*
