    I'm looking to talk to women who have engaged with the Irish healthcare/maternity services in Ireland, and felt they were treated badly, misdiagnosed, not listened to or dismissed specifically because they were women.

    Could I suggest not physically assessing low risk women in labour so you stop disturbing them, let their labours progress naturally? Midwives should be able to quietly observe women and only intervene if there is good reason.

    It’s this kind of paternalistic non-evidenced based anti-woman claptrap that makes it extremely difficult for women to navigate healthcare (whatever the health need). HCPs have to work in partnership with service users, not call them mad for making their own decisions.

    Controversial view: I think it’s madness to deliberately have a home birth in a developed country.
