We’d love to know what you think of these new nudges. Have they helped you write a note that is rated helpful by others? Share your experience with us by replying to this Tweet or sending us a DM. We love hearing from y’all!

We know that information moves fast and when you see a Tweet you want to add context to, you may want to type and hit “Submit” stat. These nudges will give you the extra second to confirm a note is as informative as it could be with more context and/or a source.

Hey there! The Birdwatch notes rated most helpful include reliable sources and clear explanations. Now, when you write a note and don’t include a source, or just include a source and no context, you will receive a reminder (or what we like to call a “nudge”).pic.twitter.com/STNgzbWMMM

Happy Friday! Birdwatch contributors have told us they want it to be easier to navigate from the Twitter app to the Birdwatch site. Why make things complicated, right? We heard you and as of today, you can access Birdwatch from the navigation menu of the Twitter app!pic.twitter.com/e67759r0GY

Why this addition? We want Birdwatch to elevate notes that people from a wide range of perspectives find helpful. In order to do that, notes on Tweets need a more diverse range of feedback. It’s also an easy (but surefire!) way for contributors to have impact.

Today we’re adding a new “Needs your help” tab to the Birdwatch Home page. This tab will surface Tweets that are typically rated by your fellow Birdwatchers but not always by you.pic.twitter.com/YcBrgdaYjp

We also put the focus on the content of the note rather than the author. You can still see the full details behind a tap.pic.twitter.com/K1XyvFW442

Finally, we tidied up the way notes look, with an emphasis on readability. We summarized the time stamp and reduced the number of words in the title.pic.twitter.com/clEXp16TuH

Speaking of ratings, we want people to know when someone finds their note helpful. So you’ll now receive a notification when your note receives its first helpful rating — your phone won’t buzz but you’ll see it in notifications.

As always, for transparency we publish the code that underlies the rating system, so we’ve updated the Birdwatch Guide to reflect the latest: https://twitter.github.io/birdwatch/about/ranking-notes/ …

The goal of these labels is to both identify the most helpful notes, and showcase what makes a note effective (vs. ineffective). It also highlights notes that could use additional input.
