People would get less wound up about human biodiversity if they felt how degrading it is just to be a member of our species, of any kind. Even the smartest dog breeds are just a cancer on spacetime compared to humans. And so with humans compared to whatever comes next.

you have to take a spacetime and evolution perspective then, "whatever comes next" is a meh phrase, you can't simply cut time into parts like that evolution not smth that happens to humans, humans and dogs etc are how evolution currently manifests

I'm p comfortable cutting time into pieces unless I'm writing poetry. e.g. The Cambrian period is qualitatively different from the Precambrian, as the next 1000 years will be for the last.

Anyway, I don't think "what's next" is really going to happen to humans so much as use them as a substrate.
