we are on it! promised! We had some datasets on tape that we are copying back so we can transfer them. One question, how useful would be to deposit more ribosome datasets? We have many that I thought it may not be that helpful for the community.

Thank you very much! I would not worry if it is useful, until EMPIAR says they lack budgets to buy more storage. And it is in different states, with different co-factors, etc, right? Then such datasets should be useful for ribosome researchers.

yes, we have several ribosome datasets very heterogeneous both conformational and compositional, but it is always the same stuff with ribosomes: factor yes/no, small subunit rotated yes/no, head swivel/tilt yes/no.The CRISPR stuff is a bit more interesting, like a continuum

The best ribosome on EMPIAR is your own EMPIAR-10028 at 3.2 Å. If you have better resolution datasets, and/or from other species/conditions, it is new and worthwhile.

By the way, assuming ribosome's diameter is 300 A, Ewald sphere curvature starts to matter at around 2.1 A. It is worth trying Ewald sphere correction in relion_reconstruct or cisTEM.
