"Koopa how are you so good at ledge trapping?" I get this asked frequently by many smashers so I'll tell everyone. I started practicing in training mode about a month ago and I all I do is practice movement and ledge trap by timing the CPU'S neutral get up (attack), jump or roll.

I'm a really strategic theory crafter. Keep in mind some moves really benefit more at the ledge than any other place on the stage. Three great examples are Bowser f-air, Lucina's nair and Joker's arsene bair. I usually practice at least 3-4 hours every weekday to those wondering!

Do you practice in training mode or just in normal 1v1 matches against CPU opponents?

About 90% of the time I go on training mode and the rest of the 10% I play with my cousin whenever he comes over. I don't ever practice against CPUS because I'm risking developing bad habits that won't work on real opponents! :D

But if you want to specifically practice ledgetrapping, doesn't the training mode cpu only do normal ledge getup?

I think you gotta set behavior to (CPU lvl3)
