Does anyone else think the ‘Karen’ slur is woman hating and based on class prejudice?

of course. And see also 'Becky', the prototype white racist. Women are consistently cast as icons of prejudice/privilege which men share at least equally

Becky definitely is, and it could be argued a little bit anti-Semitic to. My agent, who is called Becky, was slurred in this way – they were laughing at her name. She is Jewish. It’s definitely ageist, and there is no equivalent to describe a man who is bigoted and the like.

exactly, just as there is no male 'Karen', though overbearing entitled men who are nasty to service workers are hardly a rarity

the point isn't to deny/excuse female prejudice but people ought to ask themselves why these popular memes consistently use a woman to personify it

I thought "Becky" was "JAP" reissued, & absolutely auto-semitic. Maybe the use of "JAP" was begun by Jews themselves, but at least in the US people mostly used it to target not necessarily specific Jews, but (stereotyped) Jewishness ie as a warning to the goy not to break ranks.

I’m white. My name is Ellen. I recently saw an article talking about Elevator Ellen. I’m here to say that you folks complaining about this stuff are going to wind up in the museum of White fragility one day. http://Ridiculous.Do  you have any idea what black people put up with?

Yes, and have been deeply pained by it and hating it all of my life. That is why having my name tainted in this way is offensive. It's not about being fragile. It's my NAME and it has been changed into something horrible.

Is Caroline a slur too? After all, these memes come from the likes of BBQ Becky, Cornerstone Caroline, Permit Patty etc... Know your meme before you decide to take offence to it. Unless of course, you agree with the utterly class and race privileged actions of those women.
