    Soldering station v1.0. Not perfect, missing features...but better than not having it. Should make soldering in the a little faster, tidier, and easier.

    Superintendent’s report is over, and I am calling it a night. Fewer than 10 members of the public here at this point. This teacher (I taught 6 classes today) needs to head to bed.

    Dr. Swift is recognizing the AAPS PLTW elementary teachers, community members, and volunteers who put on the winter Elementary Robotics Competition. Congratulations to and the team for their 2nd win in a row!

    Dr. Swift is now delivering the Superintendent’s report. She recognizes King Elementary and their legacy of representing Dr. Kong’s vision and the civil rights movement. She also recognizes Yale Rothfeld, music educator at Thurston, for her DTE Educator award.

    The AAPS Office Professionals organization also presents the School Board with petitions from their membership, asking the School Board to prioritize paying OPs a living wage.

    The head of the AA Paraeducators union is also presenting the School Board with a petition from their members asking the Board to prioritize paying paraeducators a living wage.

    Fred Klein, president of the AAEA, is giving his board report. He recognizes for her recent MEA feature and her hard work & dedication to AAPS. AAEA members show signs that lost their time spend serving the school district in years, days, and hours. #

    AAAA (the AAPS administrators organization) is giving a report on recent successes and events at AAPS buildings such as Lawton, Pittsfield, Scarlett.

    7th and 8th speakers during public comment are also Pittsfield parents, speaking about issues they are concerned about around student safety.

    6th speaker during public comment is a Pittsfield parent. She is raising concerns about staff and student safety, and teacher compensation. She describes a string of events that are traumatizing staff and students at Pittsfield.

    5th speaker is a Forsythe parent, and is speaking about the need for increased teacher compensation. He notes that he has spoken in favor of this in the past, and is making a passionate case for the fact that schools are their teachers, not buildings.

    3rd speaker is speaking of the issue of a violent student at Pittsfield who is causing issues throughout the school. 4th speaker is also speaking about issues at Pittsfield, expressing concern about student disruptions and related issues.

    2nd speaker is Lindsay Wolf, a parent of 2 AAPS students. She gives thanks for her son’s teachers from Pittsfield, especially Heather Hooppaw. She speaks of the impact they’ve made on her son’s education, and ends by asking increased teacher compensation.

    Now it’s public comment time. First speaker is a community member who had children go through AAPS. He is speaking in favor of increases in teacher pay and health benefits.

    Next up is Dr. Swift with a special recognition - January is School Board Recognition Month. Dr. Swift is recognizing the Board Trustees, describing the work of Board members and thanking them for their service.

    At this point, I estimate there are around 50-60 teachers in blue “Support Ann Arbor Teachers” T-shirts in the audience.
