Make sure you budget for a full-face helmet and racing armor, and wear it, always. Saved my skin when I hit a deer. Only 7 broken ribs.

Yeahhh, based on some of the replies along these lines, maybe I'll just stick to a range rover (which I hear deer bounce right off of)

That will certainly be safer, though maybe not as much fun. For sub-30-mph around town, though, the Vespa could be nice.
