  8. So many challenges ahead for the UK. Our relationship with the EU will be key. Good to discuss this with and Lib Dem colleagues today

  9. At the end of next week, British MEPs will leave the European Parliament and lose our say due to Brexit. Yesterday I spoke to Acting Lib Dem leader and agreed the need for the UK and Europe to work closely together for the peace and prosperity of both

  10. This is so funny or so tragic. A Brexit MEP is worried about no British voice to protect British interests after Brexit happens. Hello? What did you think Brexit meant? Duh.

  11. Today The Croatian Minister of Transport presented the priorities of their Presidency for the first half of 2020. And while the UK will no longer be present at any negotiation table to influence developments, I asked the Council representative one last favour before leaving

  12. I asked the US ambassador to the EU this morning, Gordon Sondland, to ask President Trump to tone down his damaging and unpleasant rhetoric - such as “The EU is the enemy” and against Moslems. He replied “You want to tell him yourself?”

  13. An important day. We will be discussing implementing and monitoring provisions on citizens’ rights in the UK Withdrawal Agreement right now in the European Parliament. You can follow along live here:

Anyone who cares about this country would do all they could to protect our access to Last week the government had the chance to do just that, sadly they chose not to Thanks for giving me the chance to speak on this important issue

  15. A German friend in the European Parliament yesterday described to me the Johnson Brexit Deal (which threatens to weaken the links between both Scotland and Northern Ireland to Wales and England) as “the last explosion of the British Empire whereby the British blow up themselves”.

  16. The European Parliament must vote to give consent or not, perhaps on 29-1, to Johnson’s Brexit. MEPs are unhappy about the rights of EU citizens living in the UK. The Boris Deal does not accord with the Deal offered to him in the autumn. Trouble ahead?

  17. MEPs award this year’s Sakharov Prize for Freedom Of Thought to Professor Tothi,a Uyghur under life imprisonment in China “for separatism”. Notice at the back of our chamber the union flags & empty seats of Brexit MEPs who fail to show respect for others who desire separatism.

  19. The Brexit Party founder who quit over her Islamophobic words, joins other unsavourys like Tommy Robinson in backing the Tories. Sir John Major & Michael Heseltine urge voters to keep the Tories out. Tomorrow is the last chance to stop Brexit by voting Liberal Democrat.
