Living in Massachusetts I get more annoyed when our local newscasters completely butcher the names of cities and towns around here. If your going to work on the news in a local market at least learn how to say the names.

I can't recall who made this point, but essentially ... we shake our heads when reading a story about something we know intimately but the reporter clearly doesn't understand, but then continue reading as if that's *not* the case for most/all the other stories in the paper.

I hear it all the time when A-Rod is on the ESPN baseball broadcast instead of the local broadcast.

Like watching your favorite baseball team on an ESPN broadcast. They cover them 3 times a year max and say stuff that the fans who watch every night think are head scratchers or flat out incorrect.
