What is increasingly obvious to me a is the lack of sophistication about the players and game by national tv announcers vs local announcers. Maybe this was the case 30 years ago but seems much more obvious today

If we go back far enough, the national announcers used to be local announcers used for the Series, and then playoffs and Series. They at least knew one of the teams really well. Not so much anymore. :(
