Gordon made quite an impression on Bill, so much so that Bill changed his surname to a version of Gordon’s years later.

In 1974, as well as recording with the Rolling Stones, Bill released his first solo album Monkey Grip.
He also performed in Montreux with Muddy Waters, Buddy Guy, Junior Wells and Pinetop Perkins.

Bill recently advised artist Henrietta Caledon on the history of Chelsea to help produce a beautiful new illustrative map of the area.
Yesterday the map was officially unveiled at Ropers Gardens by the Mayor of Kensington and Chelsea, and Bill said a few words.

Blues legends Buddy Guy & Junior Wells recorded this album live at the 1974 Montreux Jazz Festival. The album is produced by Bill Wyman who also features on bass guitar along with pianist Pinetop Perkins.
