    Even if a bicyclist is crossing a street mid-block, it's no more illegal than any driver pulling out of a driveway or making a U-turn. Bike riders have all the rights and responsibilities as motorists, yet get treated like pedestrians whenever they get hit by a car.

    Note to world — and clueless Bakersfield prosecutors: Bicyclists aren't required to use crosswalks; they're just entitled to use the street as any driver. And they're no required to wear bright clothing than anyone in a car.

    That's assault with a deadly weapon.

    On my 4th day of , I was intentionally hit by a driver who also nearly hit me and didn't like me yelling at him for that. I was fine, but enough witnesses called 911 that I got the full fire truck ambulance parade at Jackson & Franklin at 8am.
