    Prancing crypto; Decilaus from near Lake St. Clair, Tasmania. The ranges of the many species in this Australian genus (even the ones that SHOULD be included there) are relatively poorly known. Holds for most terrestrial invertebrates.

    Pink Flannel Flower (Actinotus forsythii). Seedlings of this plant may become evident in a week or two. But will anyone be out in Blue Mountains parks tasked with looking for it?

    We received 50 mm of rain at the reserve over the weekend! That’s more than we got in the whole of 2019! All the clay pans and gilgais in the area are full of water. Even the have come out! 📸 , Poppy Walker &

    We left water in the hope it could keep them going long enough for life to bounce back. This one was a water station regular who became known as Tiges - when we knew where he was we relaxed a little. Another amazing wildlife survivor with the odds now against him

    Got a bit too close for comfort to a few tiger snakes during search and rescue on - their resemblance to burned wood in the ash was slightly unnerving! All kept to themselves and appeared healthy, but were hunting in areas seemingly devoid of prey
