I am becoming increasingly annoyed at people praising the government for the vaccine roll out. It is our hard pressed underfunded NHS that has undertaken this new task ON TOP OF EVERYTHING ELSE-making good the government’s ineptitude.

On a scale of 1-10, how corrupt is the UK government?

It is important when comparing statistics to use the same range on each Y-axis, otherwise you are just putting two things next to each other that look silly.

I worked for 10 months in psychiatry. I’m now a GP. I see many people in moments of crisis, at their lowest moment. We don’t need more “awareness” or “mental health ambassadors”. We need funding, more psychologists, more psychiatrists, more support, waiting times under a year.

In Parliament, I just highlighted that countries that pursued a Zero Covid strategy had 0 deaths in January, while the UK had 32,000+. Matt Hancock replied criticising *their* strategy. Incredible arrogance from a man who's overseen 100,000+ deaths.

  11. I doubt there’s anyone who doesn’t appreciate the singular effort of Sir Captain Tom, he was a good man. The Government attaching it to some symbolism of National togetherness is what stinks. I’ll pay my respect to him in my own time. I’ll clap when the NHS is funded properly.

There’s something utterly peculiar about a society that sits on its isolated island, fish rotting, exports demolished, amidst a soaring and avoidable death toll, voting for people who won’t feed kids or pay nurses properly, just clapping. I can’t understand it.

It would be great if we allocated more money for the NHS in Captain Tom’s memory so that in the future 100 year old aren’t having to fundra-oh they’ve announced another clap fantastic forget what I just said everyone

Awful news, so sad A reminder that behind every death there is a rich life story (even if not as rich as his) And that tens of thousands of dead older people written off as “would have died anyway” could have gone on to do so much in their remaining years/decades

Can we all make a conscious effort to normalise HIV testing people in hospitals. Making a massive fuss about people needing to be consented specifically (don’t see you doing that for a U&E) because it does zero for the stigma.
