We're planning improvements to transit service in the south Galt, Elmwood, Northview and Saginaw areas! 1-way loops would be replaced with 2-way service, plus new evening and weekend service on routes 50, 53, 54, 58, 59, 60, 63 and 75. Maps and details:

$325 to run a red light in a pile of moving metal & nearly kill people (rarely ticketed or enforced) $425 to skip a $3 transit fare (extra cops hired, enforced 24/7) Does this seem reasonable to you? Because it seems to me like Toronto has its priorities all wrong

Buttigieg got 2 days of media coverage saying he won Iowa, leading to a significant boost in NH. And now it turns out Bernie will win. This is ACTUAL ELECTION INTERFERENCE, by the Dem party, 10,000x more impactful than stupid Russian faceboook memes ppl lost their minds over.

This truck at the suburban office park where I work has a bumper as tall as my head and a bull bar designed to cut a pedestrian in half before sending them under the wheels. This is street legal and we have DOTs talking about distracted walking.

Do we need people to be killed on all the other streets before they get sidewalks too? Spend some damn money and build the sidewalks NOW, we cannot afford to spend people's lives this way.

Paragraphed from the linked article: "Parent said without street lights and sidewalks and with snow piled up on the shoulders of busy Highland Road in the winter, there's no safe place for people to walk. He added that residents who need to walk to a bus stop have to navigate that stretch of road to get to stops on Ira Needles or Westheights and Westforest."

Anyone claiming they could have built a better version of the Iowa caucus app "in a weekend" is exhibiting exactly the kind of hubris that led to the app in the first place. It would take six months to responsibly design, execute, test, deploy and train people to use a good app.

I'm not saying it's impossible to build difficult-to-test-but-tested-anyway, one-shot technology hardened against every conceivable edge case. It's *possible*. I'm saying it's the space program. People tend to want elections to cost less than the space program.

Modern digital technology excels in arenas where developers can adopt iterative / phased design patterns, where load is steady, where the connections are many-to-many, and where the stakes aren't *too* high. National Elections are ... none of these things.

The same people who have bent over backwards for 4 years to explain who won the popular vote will now tell you that the popular vote doesn’t matter. What a time to be alive.

A few thoughts about the Iowa Caucuses: what we are seeing there is part of a larger shift, the same thing that happened with the Boeing 737 max, the MiDAS software that wrongly kicked 20k people off of unemployment in Michigan. We are seeing over and over the replacement of

I know during budget process, reports showed space available on during rush hour, but I think that was spread out over the line, not at its busiest point. 8 minute frequency will be needed soon. cc
