Is there some overlap in what kpt and kustomize can do (in terms of customizing YAML)? When would you use one over the other?
Kustomize is a generator/transformer that can be used with kpt functions, if there are additional transforms or validations to perform. Kpt can also be used to manage kustomize bases, and to package and reuse kustomize overlays. And kpt live can be used to get safer pruning.
