The original diagrams (Feb `14) showed Salt configuring Docker on the nodes and the Proxy watching Etcd, with no Kubelet. Later, Apiserver called to Kubelets. We gradually made the system look more like Omega, with changes like http://issues.k8s.io/156 and http://issues.k8s.io/2726 .
