Wow, this is awesome! The one thing I'd love to see it combined with is a webhook that prevents deletion unless there is a `yes-I-really-want-this: "true"` annotation

I agree (see http://issues.k8s.io/10179 ), but first we're implementing it on the client side:https://github.com/kubernetes-sigs/cli-utils …

1) Yay; I've been waiting for this 2) Is SQLDatabase for Cloud SQL or Cloud Spanner? Seems like docs disagree. (I can afford Cloud SQL; I can't afford Cloud Spanner)

I like it, this shows the real power of kubernetes, i.e. the kubernetes api. Very similar approach what
@christopherhein started with the aws-service-operator. Is this still wip@christopherhein ? -
Wow! Very cool! Congrats
@bgrant0607 this is super cool. It’s very similar@_Knappek, and both look to be under the “Alpha” versioning scheme. I still have a little to finish to allow resources (390+) to be CRDshttps://github.com/awslabs/aws-service-operator/pull/199 …

This is fantastic!I would love to see the same level of effort made by go-cloud team generalizing/standarizing a controller to rule them all instead of only googlish ones, apart from that this is a really good idea!

Nice! Is this an alternative to GCP Service Broker?https://cloud.google.com/kubernetes-engine/docs/how-to/#using-google-cloud-platform-service-broker …
-
That's one way to use it. Using workload identity (https://cloud.google.com/kubernetes-engine/docs/how-to/workload-identity …), GKE workloads can authenticate with the services created via the config connector. You could also use it as a Kubernetes-native alternative to Deployment Manager (https://cloud.google.com/deployment-manager/ …)
