Question for @GCPcloud DevRel folks (or former) contributing to upstream OSS: is there a protocol for engaging w/customers who have issues on GCP w/codebases you contribute to? Our account team currently decline to connect us up with known contributors on affected sections. 1/
@jerenkrantz Often the interaction is through github. I didn't see a comment from you on the closed issue you cited. Did you file a new issue? It looks like @saturnism filed a new one:https://github.com/spring-cloud/spring-cloud-gcp/issues/1804 …

Yup - Ray was able to see our 1-line diff and the back and forth we had in the support ticket (including being told *not* to use Spring on GCP) and took our diff to its logical next step. It never was a question about upstream - more about how to engage support constructively.

In this case it's not actually a support issue - it's an OSS thing, not "supported" the same way that GCP writ large is. Google "let's" a lot of people do OSS, but you have to separate the people from the place they work in this case. I get that this is pretty gray-area. :)
