Google Kubernetes Engine now has a "vertical" pod autoscaler: This autoscaler can give you recommendations (or better: edit the pods) with more efficient cpu/memory configuration. I have been waiting for this for a long time. The equivalent in Borg has been widely used in Google since before we started Kubernetes
