I dunno, man, I hate json. Having to front and back delimit your fields really annoys me.

Or we could evolve YAML and fix the unsafe stuff and the ambiguous stuff. More likely than evolving JSON, because of how important it is.

I'm certain that a user-friendly format would be one that: - is a superset of JSON (just like YAML) - indentation is not required - a common pretty style is mandated by the spec - string values must be quoted - quotes are not required for keys - EOL commas are optional

Relaxed JSON and HJSON have some of those features, but chose to go the other way on commas and quoting string values.
